The best plastic covers I have ever seen. The best part, is that they are completely affordable. Here’s a video showing what they can do and how they are applied.
And here some guy took some scissors to his camera with the invisible shield on:
Ok, so I’ve been here for a little bit and I already know my way around! I live next to a shopping center so with it comes all the fast foods I’d need. I just got internet hooked up 5 minutes ago so now I need to get a headset and I’ll be skyping all you guys in a second. I miss everyone yet I’m so happy here. Really. Raph Soto, took me out to eat some authentic Hawaiian food. He asked me a couple of questions, to which I replied, “Yes, I like spam. Yes, I like sushi.” They call sushi something else here though. He told me that I belong in Hawaii. Spam here is the most popular food. You go to McDonald’s and you can have rice and spam! Last night for dinner I had spam and they way they seasoned it and cooked it I liked it better than the terryaki steak that was on my plate as well. Actually, I think I’m going to go get some after this post. Some cons, I probably have the messiest roomate known to exist. I’d upload the photos but my flickr account is maxed out. Besides that everything is really awesome.
I spent 3 hours at the beach yesterday just swimming and having a good time. It was wierd first getting in the water, you can not smell the ocean. I live about 3 minutes from the beach and I can’t smell and salt in the air. There are schools of fish swimming along the coast. They actually scared me the first time I came across them. I swam out past where the waves break maybe about 15ft. All of a sudden as I’m treading water my hands and feet starting hitting these slippery things. As soon as that happened dozens of fish started jumping out of the water, apparently just as startled as I was. I saw another school of fish in ankle deep water swim right up to me. They are very pretty. A fish the length of my palm accidentally beached itself when a huge wave came ashore. I picked it up off the sand and looked at it a little bit before putting him back in the water. However, after letting him go I kicked myself thinking that I should have fed him to the crabs that line the shore of the beach. I did catch two crabs yesterday. They are very quick and cautious about any movement. I think I’m going to buy a boogie bored today and go back out.
I took a walk the other day and just snapped off some quick photos. I didn’t want to look too mucy like a tourist. Click here to look at the entire set. I’m planning on taking a lot more today so stay tuned.
So, here I am sitting on an airplane listening to cheap jazz muzak. At least I have an LCD screen to look at. My stomach wouldn’t settle, I didn’t sleep, and I’m worried about my stuff and where it is. I’m getting ready to fly to Hawaii to start my new life as an elementary teacher. I never would have saw it coming. Me, an elementary teacher. I’ve traveled Europe, been to the Philippines, but to actually move my place of residence. That’s something different.
Some wierd lady just sat down next to me with her husband…I think it’s her husband. They won’t stop kissing each other and making the smacking noise when they do it…Anyways.
Hawaii, everyone says that they wish they were going. The day I guess I always feared has come, the day that I grow up and leave all that is familiar to me to start something new. Last night during my nocturnal turmoil I sat up watching National Geographic. It was a show about the culture and intricate society of a pack of lions. They said that when the cubs grew about a year in age that the leaders of the pack, the lions, would fight the young cubs and bite them until they left the pack. They were encouraged to leave their security to learn crucial skills, hunting, preying, etc. It’s this ceremony that I must partake of at this moment. I have left the pack in search of my crucial skills. What I need to learn to make it in this world for the Lord. I’ll remember all the fun times, the friends, the memories. However, I can not keep looking at my past but must peer forward into the fog or war called life and step out into the unknown, trusting God to place my steps. As I always tell people when I suggest that they should go to Europe and travel, “Life’s an adventure.â€
I got off the plane and was greeted by Pastor Ried. He seems like a really cool guy and I spent the day with him running to the DMV and what-not getting various things taken care of. It’s hot here. Really hot, or humid I should say. It’s beauty makes up for it. Just flying over the water when I was landing in Honolulu I could see straight to the bottom of the ocean. I was amazed to see what seemed 15ft into the water. I’m going to walk around and take pictures now and post them on my flickr site.
I thought this was a really neat video. It must have been a complex task to remember the shapes and not just moving one group of people at a time but moving mutliple groups of people and keeping the feel of the game. All those nerds in one room wearing colored shirts and switching seats around kinda cracks me up. It is quite an achievement though.
