Best Childhood Cartoon TV Show Intro’s Ever (IMO)
So these were from MY childhood. Also, they were all themes I looked forward too. They were just as important to watching the show as watching the show. If I so happened to miss the intro, I would genuinely be somewhat disappointed. These are in no particular order of importance… just in the order I remember them.
1. Jonny Quest. Which one? BOTH! DUH!
2. SwatKats!
My brother Danny and I would always turn the speakers up and tick my mom off every time this show came on.
3. Dun-duruduru Inspector Gadget!
And just for random awesomeness… Inspector Gadget in Greek!
4. When the five powers combine… Captain Planet! Gooooo Planet!
This show was pretty boring until about the last five minutes. When FINALLY Captain Planet would show up. Those planeteers sucked so much. Other shows that follow this formula, like Power Rangers. I can’t think of the other ones but whatev.
5. Ninja Turtles. ‘Nough said.
Ok, so. I can’t actually post a video of this because the company that “owns” the song is apparently worried that people will have TOO much fun watching the intro of a 20 year old cartoon without their permission. So WMG (Warner Music Group) I don’t want your stupid theme and furthermore I hope you fail, your company fails, and the technology revolution rapes and pillages everything you own. But that’s another blog post. In fact, it never happened. Yeah, I never watched it every day or had the bedsheets and drapes or the little couch or the action figures or watched and owned all the movies and video games and had the movie posters hanging on my wall. Forget you and your board room bozos who don’t even know what an email is and this crazy new thing these kids are doing called the internet. Get a new business model. *panting* Ok, I’m done… for now.
6. Oh oh oh uh oh oh Tailspin!
Back when Disney wasn’t free, these kids got it so good. Disney came on twice a year for free for two weeks. It was the greatest two weeks of my life. (TV wise) In fact, my mom set up the VCR in my room during these weeks so we could record the Disney channel while I was SLEEPING! That way I never missed a program and by far, my favorite Disney show was Tailspin and the theme was super awesome.
If you’re my friend you also know that my favorite Disney character was Baloo. Even though this Baloo is a different character then the Jungle Book Baloo, it didn’t matter. His attitude and personality was still the same. I owe a lot about who I am to this great bear.
7. Who you gonna call? Ghost Busters!
8. Transformers, Robots in Disguise
Just the thought that anything around you could be a robot was so stellar.
9. thunder, Thunder, THUNDERCATS HOOOOOOOO!
10. X-Men!
11. The All New Batman and Superman
Not as retro as the previous ones but I was still a kid… kinda. I loved this theme, only bummer was they played way more Batman then Superman. If you know me at all you know Superman is my all time favorite real life hero ever.
12. Batman
Another one, before The All New Batman and Superman. I can’t find the intro ANYWHERE. It was really good too. It started with Batman at the top of a building and two goons pull out guns and he throws his bat shaped ninja star and knocks them out withe a blow to the face. Had that classic block style drawing. Ah well, maybe someone else can find it.
Ok, that’s all I can think of and I need to get out of here and get some coffee… if you guys can think of any by all means put some down in the comments. Maybe I’ll do a part 2?
the Tailspin was def my favorite of all the videos that you have on here. My mom wouldn’t let me watch Captain Planet or Ghost Busters. What about Tiny Toon Adventures!
