Banned IRL
This morning I was pondering the death penalty. Recently at SXSW there was a march down 6th street about how the death penalty in Texas should be abolished forever.
So naturally, as many of you know, my mind wanders here and there. Compares and contrasts. What is the death penalty? The death penalty is really a “ban” on life. The death penalty is societies forum basically saying “You sir, have been banned, your appeal has been denied, you no longer have an IP address on earth.”
If you troll online you get banned, if you troll in real life, you get banned. If you get caught hacking someones account you get banned, if you get caught hacking someone in real life you get banned.
The internet has its own policies, the unwritten rule of “guilty until proven innocent” can be seen everywhere.
For instance, “pics or it didn’t happen” mantra can be seen all over. Challenging the most amazing of stories.
In conclusion, thinking of the death penalty as a ban on humans from earth makes more sense then just killing people cause they did horrible things.
Well, I must leave you now, ponder what I have spoken unto you.
